Officially confirmed: Vernee Apollo 2 to be 1st MediaTek Helio X30 phone with up to 8GB RAM

Last month, Vernee had officially confirmed to launch world’s first smartphone powered by MediaTek Helio X30 chipset at the upcoming MWC 2017 event. The confirmation was made through a teaser showing just the outline of a smartphone. Now, the company has one again officially revealed the name of the phone to debut with the Helip X30 chipset- Vernee Apollo 2.

The announcement, however, has been leaked by leakster Roland Quandt via a Tweet showing the image of Apollo 2 with the storage combination on board. The image seems legit with the official Vernee logo on top, as seen above.

The phone, to be launched at booth number 7G60, in Barcelona during MWC, is rumored to feature high-end hardware. It will come in two storage options- 6GB RAM/64GB ROM and 8GB RAM/128GB ROM. The Vernee Apollo 2 is said to feature a QHD display. That’s all for the specsheet we know so far.

Speaking about the Helio X30 chipset, it was unveiled last month during the CES event alongside other chipsets Helio P20 and Helio P25. It is a deca-core chipset built on the 10nm manufacturing process. It comes with IMG 7XTP-Mt4 GPU clocked at 820MHz. As is evident, the chip can handle RAM up to 8GB.
