The picture is getting clearer with each passing day and wraps unfolded one by one about the features of Apple’s most expensive smartphone yet, the iPhone 8 which is touted to cost more than $1000. One such feature which adds to the cost is wireless charging which iPhone 8 is rumored to come with.
As per a KGI report, not only iPhone 8 but the the iterative iPhone 7 devices, to be launched this year, will sport the wireless charging. This refutes some earlier refutes that this charginf feature will remain restricted to the premium OLED device.
KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also mentions that the OLED display and glass casing of iPhone 8 will have ‘a new 3D Touch module with additional graphite sheet lamination in order to prevent the device from malfunctioning due to overheating.’ Now this extra feature won’t come for free obviously. It will cost Apple $5 to procure per phone, a 30-50% increase that Apple may have to pass onto the consumer in the final sale price.
Apple will come out with three devices this year- the iterative 4.7-inch iPhone 7s and 5.5-inch iPhone 7s Plus as well as iPhone 8, which the company may choose to name as iPhone X.
