T-Mobile Galaxy S4 and Tab 3 receive Feb security patch, their first updates since 2015

T-Mobile Galaxy S4 and Tab 3 have started receiving a new firmware update, which is significant due to several reasons. The update brings with it February’s Android security updates.

Given that both the devices are still on Android 4.4 KitKat on T-Mobile, when other carriers have upgraded the OS to Lollipop, it is surprising to see the magenta carrier suddenly pay attention to them.

Also, this is the first monthly update the T-Mobile Galaxy S4 has received since December 2015, and the first for the Tab 3 since August 2015, and comes ahead of Galaxy S6. All the the more surprising.

The update being an OTA should hit your devices soon if you happen to be on T-Mobile carrier. Before hitting the download update, do make sure to get connected to a WiFi network and to get your device at least 50 percent charged.
