Samsung to introduce Galaxy X1, X1 Plus foldable smartphones at MWC 2017?

Oh! Another juicy bit of news has caught my attention. Juicy enough to get the curiosity levels soaring. Let me build up the story gradually here. All the top brand OEMs are preparing hard enough to capture the spotlight in the upcoming MWC 2017, and that’s not a secret anyways. Therefore, Samsung skipping to launch its most anticipated Galaxy S8 in MWC got us by surprise. Instead, it announced to come up with Galaxy Tab S3 during the event.

Now, that was may be because the tech firm was silently working on something to showcase at the event, which will take not only us but even its competitors by surprise. And now the time for the BIG BREAKING NEWS.

Samsung will, reportedly, unveil its foldable smartphones at the MWC event. And by the plural form I mean not one but TWO- Galaxy X1 and Galaxy X1 Plus.

Whoo! That must hurt its competitors in the right place. But, at the same time has got us quite excited. In another report, ETnews, citing industry sources said that the company will release foldable smartphone prototype at the event. However, it will be a closed door unveiling which means Samsung would choose its audience and unveil the device only to those few people.

We know Samsung has been working on two foldable devices by the patent filings- Galaxy X1 and Galaxy X1 Plus. These will carry the model numbers SM-X9000 and SM-X9050 respectively. Also, the Galaxy X1 is rumored to run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, whereas the Galaxy X1 Plus will get the updated Android Nougat out-of-the-box.

Although, these may be showcased at the MWC event, they won’t be out in the market before Q3 or Q4 this year.
