We know that Samsung will launch its AI Voice assistant Bixby with Galaxy S8. But Bixby may not be final name. Samsung has filed a trademark for Samsung Hello in Europe with the European Intellectual Property Office.
Although, at this point we do not know what this trademark if for but from the filing details it looks like AI-powered service for the Galaxy S8.
As per the trademark filing, Samsung Hello is a ‘software that enable block users or computers and mobile devices to access, aggregate, organize and interact with content, information and images and topics of general interest to such users.’
The filing further describes that the application software of Samsung Hello also ‘gives personalized features and information based on user’s preferences in the fields of weather, music, entertainment, games, travel, science, health, contact, and social news via voice command and voice recognition.’
Will Samsung Hello be another name for Bixby or are we seeing at an extension of that AI technology from Samsung? My guesses are as good as yours. With Galaxy S8 launch nearing, we expect Samsung to spill the beans soon.
Meanwhile, there was another news about Samsung which got us hooked was that it will launch foldable smartphones- Galaxy X1, X1 Plus at MWC 2017 event.
